Package of fourteen 3/32 "ceramic differential balls.

These differential balls can be used to replace the 3/32 "carbide or steel differential balls for smoother differential operation and longer life.

These ceramic differential balls are made of Si3N4 silicone nitride ceramic. Differential ceramic balls have many advantages over standard steel balls, such as lower weight, higher RPM capabilities, greater resistance to corrosion and wear, as well as less friction and vibration.

Advantages of ceramics:

High speed: ceramic differential balls can reach a resistance level of 1,200,000dN with grease lubrication, due to reduced slippage, extent of wear and heat productivity.

Weight: the weight of the ceramic is 60% lighter than steel, which decreases the centrifugal force and the total weight.
Long service life: the life of ceramic balls is 3 to 5 times longer than that of steel in comparable working conditions.

Self-lubricating: even when they are poorly lubricated or without lubrication, ceramic differential balls will continue to run longer than steel under the same stress level due to their self-lubricating properties.

Corrosion resistance: ceramic differential balls have excellent corrosion resistance and will continue to function while they are corroded.

High rigidity: the elastic ratio of ceramics is 1.5 times greater than that of steel, this dramatically increases the stiffness of the balls.

Low friction: ceramic materials have a low frictional force. Even under the limit lubrication conditions, the surfaces are extremely smooth, so their friction force is low and the rotational friction moment is low.

Wear resistant: the ceramic's micro hardness can reach a Vickers hardness level of HV1700 kg / mm2, which dramatically increases wear resistance.

Note:
Some ball differentials use 12 balls, others use 14.
This package contains 14 differential balls to service both. If your differential requires only 12 balls, you will have two unused balls.
